The Key to Controlling Stress-Part Four
Last week we had you take a stressful situation and focus on other similar situations in your life where you experienced a positive outcome. If this still does not alleviate your concerns ask yourself the following questions:
- What is your worst case scenario? Boss hates what you have done. Worst thing that can happen, he fires you. What are the odds of that happening?
- If you do get fired then what? Would your life be in danger? Would your family disown you? Would you be unemployed forever?
As we begin to examine things from this point of view, we begin to see how irrational 99% of these fears that drive your daily stress really are.
Remember, you are not your job, your are not your life situation, you are much more than anything the human brain can grasp. Keep things in perspective.
