Thanksgiving Resolution

I was on my bike this morning riding up A1A along the ocean in Palm Beach. As I rode I noticed a sailboat that was off in the haze. I paced along side him for about 5 miles. The setting was surreal and I’m not sure the picture coveys the magnificence. As this was occurring I was thinking about the fact that it’s Thanksgiving, and this was one of those moments that I was truly thankful for. It got me thinking about the concept of a Thanksgiving resolution.

Thanksgiving is the day in the US where many people take time to acknowledge the things for which they are thankful.  While this is a wonderful tradition, why not take the opportunity this year to take it a step further? Instead of being reflective and thankful only one day each year, take one minute every day to simply acknowledge something positive, however small, and be thankful for it. Use Thanksgiving as the beginning of a new ritual in your life.

This ritual will create a conscious habit to spend 1 minute each day and simply acknowledge with gratitude, the good in your life. Try to do it when you first wake up or just before you go to sleep. This will make the habit easier to establish.

Lets call it a Thanksgiving resolution.
