The odds of creating a successful business are low. Over 90% of businesses don’t survive beyond 5 years. Reputation in any business is critical. While there are many things beyond our control, in most cases we do have some control over customer satisfaction. It often comes down to taking an action that will allow the customer to walk away satisfied. If we choose to be inflexible in response to customer issues, the impact can be catastrophic to the business. We should always consider the big picture when responding to customer challenges because a small percentage of dissatisfied customers can bring a business to its knees.
